Weldon Turner
Weldon Turner is a senior finance executive with over 40 years of experience in equity markets, M&A, strategic growth advisory, and renewable energy development. His career spans leadership roles at major investment firms and financial institutions, where he has overseen multi-million-dollar transactions, capital raises, and strategic investments across global markets. From 1985 to 1992, Turner served as Vice President of Equity Sales & Trading at Salomon Brothers, advising institutional investors and executing high-profile transactions. He later became Director of International Equity Sales & Trading at Credit Suisse (1992–1999), leading market expansion and capital markets transactions in Europe, Latin America, and Asia, with a focus on emerging and frontier markets.
Mr. Turner has played a key role in strategic investments, institutional finance, hedge fund management, and energy infrastructure, including both traditional and renewable energy markets. He has advised major investors such as the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Ivan Boesky and has served the Board of Advisors for Thorium Power Company and Portofino Equity Advisors. In the renewable energy sector, Weldon has over two decades of experience, having served as European Product Manager at RCS Solar and later joining Gigawatt Global, where he is currently COO and Managing Director.
At Gigawatt Global, he has led renewable energy projects in the U.S. and emerging markets, securing large-scale financing and developing grid-connected solar and wind projects. He is also a Co-Founder and Board Member of Gigawatt Impact, a U.S. non-profit focused on bringing renewable energy solutions to vulnerable communities. Weldon holds a J.D. from Cardozo School of Law, an LL.M. in International Taxation and Financial Markets from Thomas Jefferson School of Law (Magna Cum Laude) and is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Sunderland, where his research focuses on solar energy policy. In 1999, Mr. Miller joined Exelon, where he served as Vice President of Treasury and later as Assistant Treasurer until 2010.
